Quick answers about the free tools, membership and how the tools work. Can’t find yours? Ask me.
Do I need an account to use the free tools?
No. The Bagel Math Toolkit, DoughLogic Lite, Knead to Know Lite and the cheat sheets are free to use with no login, and they work on your phone.
What is the difference between the free tools and the Pro tools?
The free versions are the quick way in: DoughLogic Lite builds a dough from your flour and your water, and Knead to Know Lite shows the likely causes for what went wrong, most likely first. The Pro versions, DoughLogic Pro and Knead to Know Pro, use your actual recipe and process, so the answers get sharper, and they let you save your work.
Do the tools work on my phone?
Yes. They are built for a phone in the kitchen, and they work on a laptop too.
Are the results guaranteed?
No. They are well-grounded estimates and likely causes. Your flour, water, oven, scale, timing and technique all change the outcome, so use the numbers as a starting point and trust what you see in the dough.
What do I get with Pro?
You get DoughLogic Pro and Knead to Know Pro, so you can make bagels you can repeat. DoughLogic helps you build a dough that works, with water and mixing temperatures, a fermentation and baking timeline, batch scaling and saved recipes. Knead to Know tells you why your bagels failed and what to change next batch. It takes how you made them and gives you ranked causes, one change to try, and a check-in after the bake.
When does Pro open, and how much will it cost?
Pro opens Black Friday, November 27. Join the waitlist to hear first, with the launch offer. All pricing will be announced at launch.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account page and you won’t be charged again. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. See the Refund Policy for the details.
Can I share my login?
Membership is for one person. Please don’t share your login or copy the Pro tools.
What if I am not sure it is for me?
Try the free versions first. If you like DoughLogic Lite and Knead to Know Lite, the Pro versions go deeper. If you join and it isn’t for you, the Refund Policy covers the first days.
Where do my recipes and results go?
The tools run in your browser. Your saved recipes and results are kept in that browser on your own device, not on my servers. They don’t sync between devices, so use the same phone or computer, or save a transfer code or PDF if you switch. Clearing your browser data erases them. Nothing leaves your device unless you press Submit on the Share my results form.
What does the Share my results button send?
Nothing until you press Submit. It opens a Google Form with your results already filled in, and you decide whether to submit. I use shared results to improve the troubleshooter, and the form doesn’t ask for your name or email.
How do you use my email?
To run your account and send the waitlist and newsletter emails you asked for. I don’t sell your information. See the Privacy Policy.
Are the tools only for bagels?
Yes. They are built around bagel dough, from the formulas to the troubleshooting.
Why do the tools use grams?
Grams are the only way to get consistent bagels. A digital scale is the cheapest upgrade you can make, and the math in the tools assumes it.
I used a different flour or oven. Will it still work?
The tools are built for that. They take your flour and your water into account, and the troubleshooter looks at what actually happened. Results will vary a little from mine, which is normal.
A tool gave me a strange answer. What should I do?
Check the numbers you entered first, especially units and times. If it still looks wrong, send me a note through the Contact page with what you entered and what you got.
Are your gear links affiliate links?
Some are, including Amazon Associates links and the Gozney Collective. If you buy through them I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. I only list things I use.
I can’t log in or I was charged by mistake. Who do I contact?
Use the Contact page. Choose Billing or login, and I will help you as soon as I can.
Where can I find your recipes?
On Gronda, with video walkthroughs. New accounts get 30 days free through the link on this site.
Try a free tool first, or join the list to hear when Pro opens.
